Hello, thanks for visting my page.

I made this website during a heatwave (that feels pertinent for some reason). I wasn’t really around for a lot of the old school internet, I was a late 90’s baby and my family got a computer comparatively pretty late, I wasn’t really online until around more the middle of the 2000’s, and even then I was mostly playing dress up games and making slideshows with random clip art I found. I was honestly always too self conscious about my spelling and grammar to chat or use forums (though I did lurk on the wrongplanet.net forums after being diagnosed at 13), so I guess this is my chance to make my own space.

brackish waters?

Brackish water is a mix of fresh and salt water, places like mangrove forests, lagoons, estuaries etc. I live on the coast and am lucky enough to get to visit these kinds of ecosystem, I also happen to be descended from a coastal people so there’s a cultural aspect to it as well for me. The name (I hope) invokes the sensation of cool water, warm sun, the smell of salt and vegetation (thriving and decaying), the buzz of cicadas, bird song, and the moment of tiny fishes under the surface of the water (maybe that’s a lot of pressure to put on a title lol).

This is all a work in progress, just going with the flow (not a water pun I promise..) adding and tinkering as I go (accidental rhyme).
